Everything Canidary does for your club
Canidary is made for clubs that raise future service dogs. It brings a club’s dogs, people and schedule together in one app that works in any phone’s browser.
A profile for every dog
Each dog gets one page with everything a sitter needs to know, kept up to date by its raiser.
- Add a photo, birth date, breed and coat, along with the raiser and an optional co-raiser.
- Sitting notes start with the raiser’s phone number, emergency contacts and a checklist of commands, and raisers can add any section they need.
- Raisers can add a few check questions that a sitter answers before signing up to sit.
- Attach files such as feeding instructions or vet paperwork.
- When a dog moves on, it joins the club’s puppy alumni with its story, its photos and the memories members leave.
Puppy sitting, organized
Raisers post the times they need a sitter, sitters apply, and Canidary picks one fairly before the shift.
- Shifts can repeat on a schedule, so a weekly class only needs posting once.
- Before applying, a sitter reads the dog’s notes and answers the raiser’s check questions.
- Canidary gives the shift to the applicant who has sat the least, so the work is shared. Clubs that prefer to choose sitters by hand can do that instead.
- Your club can save its youngest puppies for sitters it has certified, at an age your club decides.
- After the shift, the sitter files a short sitting log for the raiser, and sitting hours are counted from logs filed on time.
- A shift that still has no sitter close to the day is flagged as urgent.
One calendar for the club
Meetings, training, outreach and social events share one calendar, with each member’s own shifts on it too.
- Choose which members an event is for, and they’re the ones who see it.
- Members answer Going, Maybe or Can’t go, and can bring guests.
- Set a deadline or a capacity, and a waitlist takes over once the event is full.
- Ask questions with the RSVP, such as T-shirt sizes or carpool seats, and download the answers.
- Events can repeat, and each one can have a location, a meeting link, files and your club’s Instagram post.
- Members who haven’t answered get a reminder before the event.
Attendance, counted for you
Your club decides what members need to attend each semester, and Canidary keeps count.
- Set up your own attendance categories, like general meetings or outreach, with a target for each kind of member.
- At a meeting, show a QR code and members check themselves in from their phones.
- Officers can also mark attendance from a simple list of members.
- Log a makeup when someone attends something else in place of a meeting.
- Every member can see their own progress and whether they’ve met each target.
Roles that match how your club runs
Every club is organized a little differently, so its offices, committees and permissions are yours to set.
- Start with familiar offices like President, Treasurer and Puppy sitter coordinator. Rename them, or add your own that starts with the same permissions as one of them.
- Create committees under an office to share the work. Members see each committee and who is on it on the club’s About page.
- Permissions are written in plain words, like Post sitting shifts or Take attendance, so you know exactly what you’re handing out.
- Officers can preview the app as a regular member to check what everyone else sees.
Simple to join
Members join with your club’s invite, shared as a link, a QR code or a short code.
- Your club chooses whether new members get in right away or wait for approval.
- Starting a club takes a couple of minutes, and whoever starts it becomes its President.
- People in more than one club switch between them from the top of the screen.
- Add your club’s logo so the app looks like yours.
Dues and fundraising
Keep track of who has paid their dues, and give the causes your club supports a place on the club’s pages.
- Set a due date and explain how to pay, then mark members paid as payments come in.
- Note how each member paid, such as cash or PayPal, from the payment methods your club lists.
- Members get reminders as the due date gets close.
- Canidary never handles money. Members pay the way your club already collects dues.
- Post a cause with its story and a link to its donation page, and members hear about it.
News that reaches the right people
Send announcements to the members they’re meant for, and share your newsletter where everyone can read it.
- Choose whether an announcement goes to raisers, sitters, members or everyone.
- Attach files and link the events an announcement is about.
- Show your club’s Instagram post or reel right under an announcement’s message.
- Upload each newsletter as a PDF, and members read it right in the app along with past editions.
Notifications that suit each person
Every update lands in the app’s inbox, and members can also get it by email or as a push notification.
- Each person chooses how they hear about new shifts, reminders, announcements and more.
- Sitters get a reminder before each shift they’re sitting.
- Push notifications work on Android, and on iPhone once Canidary is on the Home Screen.
Privacy
A club’s members, dogs and schedules stay inside that club.
- Members see each other’s name, photo, short bio, role in the club and the dogs they raise.
- Dues, attendance, sitting hours and email addresses are visible only to the member and the club’s officers.
- Clubs never see each other’s information, and there’s no public list of clubs.
Works on any phone or computer
Canidary runs in the browser, so there’s nothing to download from an app store.
- Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app.
- Sign in with a passkey, using your face, fingerprint or phone PIN, or with a password.
- Turn on two-step sign-in for extra security.
- Light and dark mode follow your device, or pick one in Settings.
- Choose the Classic or Modern app theme in Settings.
- Use it in English or Spanish.
