Calendar and events
The club’s events and your sitting shifts, and each event’s details, RSVP and check-in.
Read the calendar
You see the events meant for your role. Board sees every event. Each event has the color of its category, and the key under the calendar shows what each color means.
The calendar also shows the sitting shifts you are assigned to. Open shifts are on the Shifts page.
The Event agenda, beside the calendar on a wide screen and under it on a narrower one, lists the events and shifts that have not ended yet, in time order. Press an event to see its details, files, RSVP and the announcements about it.
- Open Calendar from the menu.
- Press Month, Week or Day to choose how much the calendar shows.
- Press Previous or Next to move back or forward. Press Today to return to today.
- Press an event or a shift on the calendar to open it.
- Press the small dog beside a cake to open the profile of the dog whose birthday it is.
Add an event
Officers who manage eventsEveryone who can see the event gets a reminder in the app an hour before it starts. All-day events have no reminder.
For an Instagram post, copy the link of a post or reel in Instagram and paste it. Everyone who can see the event sees the post on the event’s page.
To add files, open the event after you add it.
- Press Add an event above the calendar, or press the + beside a day’s date to start on that day.
- Type a Title, and pick the Start and End. Check All-day event if the event has no set times.
- Pick a Category. It sets the event’s color and checks the groups under Who else can see this.
- Change the checks under Who else can see this if you need to. Board always sees every event.
- Under Counts toward attendance as, pick the attendance category the event counts toward, or Does not count.
- Add a Location, a Meeting link, an Instagram post, a Contact person, a Contact email and a Description if you want.
- Press Add event.
Make an event repeat
Officers who manage eventsEach date is added as a separate event. To change, cancel or delete one date later, open that date’s event. The other dates do not change.
- In the Add an event form, pick Every day, Every week, Every two weeks or Every month under Repeats.
- Pick the last date in Repeats until. It can be up to a year after the start.
- Press Add event.
Collect RSVPs
Officers who manage eventsWhen Room for is full, people who answer Going are put on a waitlist. When a spot opens, the first person on the waitlist is moved to Going and gets a notice in the app.
Members who have not answered get a reminder in the app in the three days before the event, while RSVPs are open.
Unchecking Collect RSVPs on the event’s page deletes every answer. Saving changed questions asks members who said Going, or who are on the waitlist, to answer again.
- Check Collect RSVPs in the Add an event form. For an event already added, open it and press the words beside RSVP.
- Set RSVP closes, or leave it blank to close RSVPs when the event starts.
- Type how many people can come in Room for, guests included. Leave it empty for no limit.
- Change or remove the two starting questions, Are you coming? and How many guests are you bringing?, if you want.
- Press Add a question to ask something more. Pick how it is answered in Answer with, and check Required if everyone must answer it.
- Drag a question by its number, or press its up and down arrows, to change the order.
- Press Add event, or Save questions on the event’s page.
